It feels like a whole new world around here. The weather is beautiful and people are cheerful and at least 30% of the people I've seen walking around are wearing their "I Voted" stickers with major pride. There were people holding Obama, Franken, & Walz (MN, you know) signs at all four corners of the busiest intersection in town, and people were honking and cheering and giving major thumbs up. It made me want to buy the world a coke. Or maybe a beer...it's been a rough 8 years.
they are having election coverage on one of the main channels here all afternoon--i'm thinking of hurrying back to whakatane, just so i can watch and not feel left out! i'm so excited!

I know! I was in line right at 7:00, when the polls opened, and I waited for over an hour. And you know what? I would have waited ALL DAY if I had to.
The whole thing makes me too anxious! I want it to be over so we know already.
